[Needless to say, things had not gone as planned. Instead of Karkat's original plan to try and find his friends and make sure they were all safe and sound, he pulled the exact opposite card. Sollux had assured him that he would be alright if Karkat went out to search about, and so the oh-so-fear-less leader ventured out in hopes that maybe he could right whatever went wrong.
